The new model of sustainable architecture proposed by the regional Executive will boost the activity of surveyors in the Region of Murcia.
It is an ecological transition of the construction sector framed in the European objectives set by the European Urban Agenda 2030.The general director of Territory and Architecture, Jaime Pérez Zulueta, and the dean of the Official College of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Mármol, held a working meeting this week in which they discussed the new opportunities posed by the 'Sustainable Architecture and Construction Strategy of the Region of Murcia' (EACS), which will help reduce the impact of the coronavirus crisis. Pérez Zulueta highlighted the leading role of this collegiate institution in the drafting of the Strategy, and explained that "it intends to generate cities through a friendlier architecture that improves people's quality of life and is more respectful of the environment." "Building energy efficiency, nature-based solutions, the reduction of the water and carbon footprint, and the recycling of construction waste are, among other issues, priority aspects that mark the path towards which the construction process is advancing "Said the director.
He also pointed out that "we must stress the importance of training professionals and companies, and the social awareness necessary to advance in this new process of urban ecological transformation."
