Antonio Espín and Lourdes Retuerto recall that the Region is the only autonomous community that has implemented blended learning in classrooms, which, together with the lack of digital resources suffered by some families, increases the inequality of opportunities among students The autonomous senator of the PSRM, Lourdes Retuerto and the regional deputy Antonio Espín, have celebrated that the Government of Spain has launched the Educa en Digital program in the Region of Murcia, with an investment of 5.6 million euros for the digitization of educational centers through the European Regional Development Funds (ERDF). They have explained that this action is aimed at closing the social, digital and technological gap in the 2020-2021 academic year, derived from the semi-presence in classrooms and the lack of equipment and technological material suffered by some families. Lourdes Retuerto recalled that on September 29 the Council of Ministers authorized the signing of twelve agreements to launch the Educa en Digital program, and that, among these agreements, is that of the Region of Murcia, which means a necessary step for the acquisition of computer equipment, intended for students from families at risk who are enrolled in educational centers supported with public funds. In this sense, he pointed out that this program will serve to provide educational centers with digital resources that will facilitate education, both in the classroom and at home. For his part, Antonio Espín has insisted that the Region of Murcia is the only community in all of Spain that implemented blended learning in Early Childhood Education, Primary and in the first years of ESO, against the entire educational community and without training alternatives. "If to all this is added the lack of digital resources that the centers have and that the material that the counselor announced weeks ago is not arriving, the most likely is that the failure and dropout rates in our Region will increase, since by themselves very high, and social inequalities increase ", he indicated.
