Cartagena has 10 compactors installed in various areas and joins the objective of raising awareness about the importance of the environment through a project that promotes the labor integration of people with disabilities. The users of associations such as AIDEMAR, AFEMAC or AFDA are in charge of managing the maintenance and cleaning of the presses, a paid job to which the amount collected for the aluminum will be added.Facing the summer, canned consumption increases especially in coastal areas where tourist activity is increasing.

Each compactor fits 2,000 cans, each can weighs 13.6g, which is equivalent to 27kg of aluminum in total.

It is an easy to handle, light residue that does not break, does not burn and does not rust.

It is easily compacted and has important advantages because 100% of the aluminum can be recycled without diminishing its quality. For every ton of aluminum, 3.5 tons of CO2 are emitted.

Estrella de Levante continues to bet on other actions in terms of sustainability, the environment and the circular economy.

The COVID-19 crisis has forced companies to reorganize, prioritize and provide help where possible.

In this sense, each week the brewery has sent 25,000 liters of alcohol to the alcoholic to produce a hydroalcoholic mixture. In the same way, after the bars closed, all the beer that had not been dispensed was removed for reuse.

In order to take advantage of it, Estrella de Levante has reused the almost 500,000 liters of withdrawn beer, generating electricity equivalent to the monthly consumption of more than 230 homes.
