In total, the Ministry has allocated 1,181,000 euros to these works (738,000 euros to 16 projects in Lorca and 443,000 euros to five improvement initiatives in Molina de Segura), which will respond to needs previously detected by the councils themselves.
The deadline to start tendering the works is now open, and the maximum completion date for the projects is 2022. During these meetings with the mayors, the importance of these projects to improve the provision of essential services to citizens was addressed, and to correct imbalances in the municipalities with respect to more central neighborhoods. Javier Celdrán stressed that "these actions are especially relevant in the context generated by the pandemic, because they contribute significantly to reviving the economy of these municipalities.
They are projects that act as a motor for companies and auxiliary sectors at the local level, in addition to generating jobs and boost commercial activity ". Performances in Lorca In the case of Lorca, some of the works are the arrangement of sidewalks and the conditioning of the passage under the train tracks in Almendricos; the resurfacing of the Condomina road in Marchena; the creation of a greenway from Camino Quijero to the Crossroads of Vereda de Los Seguras, in Tiata; the paved road to La Bodega, in Cazalla; the consolidation of a wall in La Fuente de Coy street, which includes resurfacing, and also the elimination of a dangerous curve in the Hinojar road, in La Hoya (this is the project with the largest budget: 154,000 euros). Likewise, the covering of a paved area of ??20x20 meters for a multipurpose area will be carried out in La Paca; the construction of a sidewalk from the parish to the cemetery, in La Hoya; the fitting out of a car park at the La Tercia health center; the conditioning for parking of a plot next to the Campillo school; the adaptation of a promenade in Pozo Higuera, and the fitting out of a social premises in Morata. Finally, the old La Campana soccer field, in Pozo Higuera, will also be adapted for multiple uses; the petanque courts in Pulgara will be prepared; An esplanade will be set up in Purias for parking and traffic, next to the multipurpose pavilion, and public lighting will be installed on Camino Felí de Cazalla. Performances in Molina de Segura With regard to Molina de Segura, the project with the largest budget allocation (193,000 euros) is the remodeling of the school pavilion of the Vega del Segura Nursery and Primary School, in Ribera de Molina.
In addition, a new viewpoint will be set up on Paseo de la Huerta, also in Ribera de Molina, and the repair and improvement of children's areas will be carried out in the districts of El Llano, El Fenazar, Campotéjar Baja, Los Jaimes and El Romeral .
Finally, the Torrealta church square will also be renovated, as well as the Casino and Albistur squares, in Ribera de Molina. The Plan for Pedanías, Provincial Councils and Peripheral Neighborhoods 2020-2021 is intended for the four municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants of the Murcia Region (Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Molina de Segura) and has a total budget of 4 million euros for the next two years.
