| Through the Metal Technology Center and within the framework of the "Disruptive Industries and Entrepreneurial Discovery Program" they are working to create new opportunities | The Community invests 63,000 euros to develop this year an innovative project on new advanced materials, through the Metal Technology Center, within the 'Disruptive Industries and Entrepreneurial Discovery Program' (PIDDE). The Minister for Business, Industry and Spokesperson, Ana Martínez Vidal, visited the Metal Technology Center today where she learned about the projects they work on and stressed that "today we must bet more than ever on creativity, innovation and digitization to create new highly technological companies, which are the key to overcoming the effects of the pandemic and creating wealth and quality.
" Specifically, the Metal Technology Center works on projects on agrotechnology, fire engineering and advanced materials whose objectives are the optimization of agricultural processes, technologies with reduced environmental impact, development of agents with greater extinguishing efficiency and mechanisms of corrosion inhibition, among others. Currently, the research lines of the center include the manufacture and processes of advanced materials, the improvement of the competitive capacity of plant protection equipment, and new mechanical technologies in irrigation facilities. "The Metal Technology Center is an example not only at a regional level but also at a national and international level, it has the only fire laboratory to carry out fire extinguisher tests, in addition to supporting SMEs in the Region through its R + D + i ", explained Martínez Vidal.
