Most accidents in Totana in 2012 were caused by non-compliance and other regulating the priority signaling at intersections, as appears from the annual report by Atestados Unit and Police Road Safety Local in this town.
In 2012 there were a total of 158 accidents in which the local police intervened in Totana, which represents a decrease from the 173, 2011 -, of which 26 accidents were recorded for not respecting the yield sign step, 23 for not respecting the stop sign and 19 for failure to yield to vehicle approaching from the right unmarked crossing.
This figure represents 43.03% of total accidents in Totana, which means that those produced at the intersection of routes is the largest of their causes, as stated in the same report.
To avoid such situations, the Department of Safety and Traffic comes programming different actions in order to minimize and reduce the percentage of accidents that occur as a result.
One of these measures includes the verification checks of compliance with this policy priority.
