The Councilor for Social Welfare, Javier Baños, visited the Segura Food Bank yesterday to collaborate institutionally in the management of the transfer of the food that corresponds to C ritas de las Tres Avemar as, accompanying those responsible of this entity in Totana after the large food collection carried out during the month of December, according to municipal sources in a statement. C ritas de las Tres Avemar as, having such a high number of beneficiary families and users, corresponds to a huge quantity of food plus some commercial batches that different companies have made at this time, which has resulted in 12,000 kilograms of food approximately. The mayor recalled that C ritas has been helping for a long time by virtue of a municipal collaboration agreement, intensifying this aid especially since the beginning of the state of alarm due to the pandemic with economic aid within the budgetary possibilities and sanitary and disinfection material, as well as a permanent collaboration through the Municipal Center of Social Services. Javier Baños thanked those responsible for a totanera company for yielding and allowing a large tonnage truck to transport all food and Diego Carri n for his work together with the Local Police in the unloading works in the C ritas de las Tres Avemarías depot, next to the Glorieta. In addition, he thanked the leaders of the Segura Food Bank for their willingness with the City Council and congratulated them for the great work they have been doing for a long time with the Totanera society and the Region of Murcia. Finally, he thanked C ritas de las Tres Avemaría, and the team of volunteers headed by Luc a Vivancos, for the immense work they have been doing so that no needy family lacks food; and encourage them to continue in this priceless task of solidarity.
