The Plenary of the Totana City Council agreed in its last ordinary session, unanimously, that the municipal government team initiate conversations with the Government Delegation to provide the municipality of Totana with a Police Station or delegation of the National Police in this town.The plenary agreement, promoted at the behest of the Municipal Socialist Group, also includes an account within a maximum period of three months in the Board of Spokespersons or in the Finance and Internal Regime Commission of the result of the efforts.The municipality of Totana has a population of approximately 35,000 inhabitants, with a considerable increase registered especially in the last decade.In addition, it has population centers scattered over a vast area of ??287.6 square kilometers, with a wide geographic area and significant demographic growth.This situation is joined by a staff of the Local Police that should have 66 troops and currently has 48; which makes it necessary to undertake the arrival in Totanade of a delegation from the National Police Corps that would allow the services to be reorganized and to be more efficient.In this way, the National Police could cover security issues in the center of the municipality and administrative matters such as issuance of DNI and Immigration; while the Civil Guard would take care of reinforcing the services in the districts and rural centers.
