| They will be held on the occasion of Pride Day | The Councilor for Equality, Javier Baņos, has urged citizens to participate in the activities scheduled for the next few days in favor of diversity and respect for the LGTBI community that will be held on the occasion of Pride Day.The activities promoted by this municipal department are aimed at raising awareness and giving visibility to the reality of this group, favoring and integrating positive representations of people whether or not they are from the LGBTI group in society.The mayor explained that these daily actions, in our daily life, with our example of solidarity, in language or in other areas, will help prevent situations that we should have overcome today, breaking stereotypes and reinforcing their self-esteem.Javier Baņos has said that from the Department of Equality we continue to work towards formal equality and the recognition of rights for LGTBI people; and added that there is still a long way to go, because in the life experience of lesbians, gays, trans, bisexual and intersex people, violence and discrimination appear regularly.The Councilor for Equality has stressed that, at times like those in which we have had to live with COVID-19, this year we are doing it through social networks and different communication channels to bring citizens our institutional respect towards this collective.In addition, he explained that we must create a climate of safety that will have important repercussions on the mental health and well-being of LGTBI children, who will thus be balanced and happy people, he said.As he has commented, the fundamental rights and dignity of each person must be the central axes on which any decent society is built.

He has also indicated that this commemoration is not only directed for the LGTBI community but for all those people who want to live with freedom, without complexes, in an environment of equality and respect for everyone.For all this, the Councilor for Equality has encouraged the residents to make this reality visible during these days on which June 28, International LGBTI Pride Day is celebrated, from the respect and freedom that all the citizens of Totana are deserves.Activity programTHURSDAY 2517:30 hours.
