The municipal plenary unanimously agreed, in its last ordinary session, that the Totana City Council carry out an increase in the budget corresponding to the subsidy established for Civil Protection in this town.Since March 14, Spain has been in a state of alarm established by the Government of Spain, days in which the COVID-19 crisis has left very complicated situations in the municipalities of Spain.At this time, it must be recognized that a very essential job in the fight against this terrible pandemic has been carried out by health workers, State Security Forces and Bodies, Local Police and Civil Protection. During these moments of uncertainty, fear and overwhelm of society, these services have been fighting from the first day at the foot of the canyon, to be able to provide citizens with the best means despite the unprecedented attack we were suffering.The Plenary wanted to recognize, through this motion promoted by the Popular Group, the great work carried out by Totana Civil Protection in this period, and that it continues to do so, just as they had accustomed us when other types of catastrophes have occurred.This Body has been from the first moment attending to the most vulnerable people, supporting groups that were saturated and needed their help and ensuring the safety of the residents of the municipality.In addition, they have done their bit to cheer young and old in moments of desolation and uncertainty; and ultimately, they have shown once again that they have been there for when Totana needs them.Totana Civil Protection receives a grant from the City Council to maintain the Volunteer Association and carry out its social function.At these times, they have had to implement many actions and therefore they have had to face all of this, so it was agreed that this budget line of the grant be increased sufficiently by the City Council so that they can lead to He carried out his magnificent work throughout the rest of the year.
