The Local Government Board has agreed to the proposal of the Councilor for Culture, Verónica Carricondo, to sign a collaboration agreement with the Asociación Agrupación Musical de Totana for the year 2020, for the amount of 16,000 euros.The Totanero City Council has been collaborating for years with the Musical Association in the operation of the School and Music Band, whose association was created in 1980 and has been closely linked to the city council.The agreement will be signed in the coming days by the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the president of the Musical Association of Totana, Blasa Montes Pérez, in order to financially support the expenses of the aforementioned entity.This amount will be used to cover the annual expenses of directing the Training Bands and Titular Band, as well as the hiring of a musical language teacher and an administrative assistant.The Consistory will assume the cleaning and the electricity and water expenses of the premises that the Musical Association uses, located in the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel", on a regular basis.It will also give up full use of the premises on the first floor, where the Music School is located: rehearsal room, Musical Language Classroom, Piano Classroom, Office, Guitar Classroom, toilets and changing rooms.
The Musical Initiation Classroom is for shared use with the Santiago Choir.On the second floor, where the Training Classrooms are located, the non-exclusive use of their classrooms will be transferred, and must not coincide in day and time with any training activity previously authorized by the Totana City Council.For its part, the Asociación Agrupación Musical will carry out educational work at the School of Music, where classes on musical initiation, preparatory, musical language, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, transverse flute, oboe, tuba and euphonium, trombone are taught.
, piano, violin, trumpet and percussion.The Association will be in charge of managing the collection of receipts for the classes they teach and hiring the teachers of the School, assuming the responsibility that it entails at all times.In addition, the Band of the Musical Association, when the situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic is normalized and authorized by the authorities of the different Public Administrations, will present a program of performances and activities planned until the end of the year.
