The Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) in Totana has carried out a total of 187 interventions, attending to 72 women who have needed psychological, social support or legal assistance during the past month of April in the midst of mandatory confinement by the alarm state. In this period, there have been 6 new cases of gender violence attended by this service (2 national women and 4 foreigners), which represents an increase of 66.6% compared to April of the previous year, according to sources from the Department of Women and Equality.From this municipal department it is reported that if you take as a reference last February, the last month in which the care was entirely in person, the attention of cases of women who were already being cared for in the CAVI has increased by 25%.Since the start of the state of alarm, the professional team of the Care Center for Women Victims of Gender Violence has continued to provide assistance through the telephone numbers 968 41 81 77 and 638 989 402 from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 15:00 : 00 hours and by email totana@cavis.es, 24 hours a day, offering psychological support services, social support and legal advice.Interventions have not only been limited to supporting and advising women, but also following up cases, with special attention to those victims who may be experiencing a special risk situation when confined to their aggressors.

For all this, the coordination with the rest of the professionals who intervene in the treatment and monitoring of the victims, especially the security forces and bodies, has continued.The CAVI team of professionals has also valued as a priority and has continued working to continue managing with the public bodies all administrative procedures, be they social or legal, that were pending resolution before or during the confinement, with the aim of offering the greatest coverage for the women served and avoid harm. The provision of the service continues to be based on the monitoring and individual attention of each case by the multidisciplinary team, so that despite the social distance that confinement requires, women do not feel alone and without the possibility of asking for help.
