A significant number of hoteliers in Totana have already decided to open as of May 11 when phase 1 of the de-escalation plan decreed by the national government begins, and they have the possibility of requesting the City Council to expand the space of occupation of public roads that they maintained before this health crisis, all of this under a Mayor's Office decreed last week.The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the Councilor for Activities, Pedro José Sánchez, held another telematic meeting in the middle of last week in order to meet the needs of professionals in the sector and arbitrate relief measures to help the sector exit of the crisis gradually.
Among the agreed measures, the option of expanding the surface of the terraces of hospitality businesses that have this physical possibility stands out.The measure collected in the municipal Bando has had the acceptance of local bars, restaurants and cafes, which see this expansion of the space of the terraces as an additional business possibility without which it would be practically unfeasible to open it to the public, to help the local hoteliers in their startup.To carry out said expansion while these conditions are maintained, the owners of the interested establishments must submit a request for the expansion of the space occupied to the Activities Bureau, bringing with them a sketch or sketch that indicates the additional area that it is intended to have.This expansion of the space of the terraces and the creation of new areas is done with a double aspect: on the one hand, facilitating the opening of the premises allowing them to increase their spaces, and on the other, increasing security among clients to avoid contagion .For which purpose the following three cases of terrace expansion can be presented: 1.
Expansions on public space of plaza or sidewalk: in these cases, the area will be distributed projecting the terrace towards the plaza in which it is located, or expanding to lateral areas that are outside the line of the facade of the premises.

Expansions on public road space (parking lots): these cases allow the expansion of terraces on spaces adjacent to the current terrace that are on the road and do not affect a traffic lane.
In these cases, the terrace must be installed with security elements that prevent its invasion by vehicles.
