The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, has issued a Bando in which he reminds citizens that movements to second residences are prohibited by Royal Decree 463/2020, after detecting that some people do so in the Huertos and Sierra Espuña, and even move to the coastal area of the municipality of Mazarrón.

The first mayor warns in the regulation that these displacements will entail an administrative sanction and the imputation of an eventual crime of disobedience, which will force the Corps and State Security Forces and the Local Police to process the consequent criminal sanctions.

As stated in the Mayor's Office, "failure to comply with such prohibition will determine the application of the corresponding administrative sanction and, where appropriate, the imputation of a possible crime of disobedience."

For this reason, as announced last week, the Local Police and the Civil Guard are going to intensify the controls, shielding and reinforcing the main accesses, especially those leading to the Huertos and Puerto de Mazarrón area.

Juan José Cánovas explained that "this side reinforces the Royal Decree of the State of alarm of the Government of Spain to prevent and limit the access of people to the municipality who do not have their habitual residence here, and the movement of residents of Totana to their second residences "

In addition, the mayor added that "we must acknowledge and be thankful that in Totana, citizen responsibility with confinement measures is developing at satisfactory levels typical of a caring and committed people."

For this reason, the mayor stressed that "it is the obligation of the City Council to safeguard the health of our neighbors, warning that failure to comply with the rules on travel and circulation to second homes will be severely punished, especially in view of the proximity of Easter."

The first mayor has emphasized, once again, that "it is essential to stay at home and that we do not leave unless it is absolutely necessary, especially now when the number of infections seems to have stabilized and we are gradually winning the battle to pandemic;

a battle that we will win if we stick together and follow the rules. â€
