The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, has issued a Faction in the face of the extraordinary epidemic caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and following the recommendations of the Governments of Spain and the Region of Murcia, through the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health, in which the battery of measures for the general knowledge and protection of the population is reported, and to combat or reduce the spread and contagion.

In relation to public buildings or premises and municipal activities, it is recalled that from yesterday, Thursday, March 12 and until 31 of the same month (reviewable and expandable period) all municipally owned buildings or premises are closed, so that they will only remain The administrative buildings are open, with the rules and restrictions already announced.

In addition, all social, cultural and sports or other programs, events and activities promoted or organized by the Totana City Council are suspended during the same date and under the established conditions.

Likewise, all activities organized by third parties in municipal offices or services are suspended.

The closure of public facilities and services that are likely to gather many people is also reported, such as the Municipal Center for the Elderly, the Social and Local Centers of AAVV, Libraries and Study Rooms, Children's Schools, "Marcos Ortiz" Municipal Park , among other.

The training and practical activities of students in municipal dependencies are also suspended, as well as trips, excursions, guided tours, planned courses or leisure and free time activities in these facilities (family lotteries, dances, talks, conferences, etc.)

Non-municipal activities and premises

The City Council advises private entities, associations and non-municipal groups (Illustrious Cabildo Superior de Procesiones, Peñas de Carnaval Federation, Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods, Sports Clubs, etc.) to follow the same considerations and indications for the postponement or suspension of their activities avoiding the concentration of people for the sake of avoiding infections.

Similarly, companies that manage private venues where large numbers of people or users are concentrated (supermarkets, gyms, sports centers, funeral homes, commercial establishments and hoteliers, kindergartens, cinema, etc.) are recommended to take protective measures and self-protection indicated by the competent authorities and compel their users to their application and compliance.

Weekly markets

Starting next week, and until a new order, the weekly market celebration on Wednesday in Totana and Friday in El Paretón, respectively, will be suspended.

Activities in buildings and services of other Administrations

The Totanero City Council will adopt the appropriate and necessary measures in the buildings and public services dependent on other Administrations, following their indications and precise recommendations regarding teaching activity, such as educational centers (Department of Education), day centers for the elderly. and disability (IMAS), etc.

Cleaning and disinfection in municipal centers will also be intensified, following the recommendations of the Federation of Municipalities.

General advice to the population

In the Mayor's Office, please make a responsible and rational use of the public health services of the Health Centers and Emergency Services to avoid their collapse;

To avoid contagion, preventive recommendations are remembered, such as washing your hands frequently with soap and water, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, as well as coughing or sneezing inside your arm, or using a disposable tissue and throw in the trash.

Likewise, it is recommended to avoid going to municipal offices and dependencies if it is not strictly necessary or essential, and in any case, following the instructions and restrictions of municipal personnel.
