The bases of the football and futsal clubs of Totana will promote in their sportswear the site of La Bastida to give visibility to the archaeological park in their different competitions under the initiative promoted by the Department of Sports and Tourism of the City Council for the rest of the season.
The teams of the Totana Olympic, Capuchin Indoor Soccer Club and Totana Base Soccer Club, which brings together about 400 players in different categories and competitions, will be printed on their t-shirts and sweatshirts the corporate image of La Bastida in order to contribute to the promotion of this attractive place of tourist interest of the municipality.
The presentation ceremony took place in the plenary hall and was attended by the mayor, Juan José Cánovas, the Councilors for Sports and Tourism, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez and Verónica Carricondo, as well as with representatives of the quarry of the various sports clubs involved and beneficiaries of this initiative, athletes, fathers and mothers.
This corporate initiative in the kits of these three sports clubs intends to project this important tourist space inside and outside the municipality of Totana, combining the confluence of sports and tourism promotion of La Bastida;
an important source for its tourist and economic development.
In total, about 400 new sports apparel printed with the La Bastida logo have been made, both in t-shirts and sweatshirts, whose total budget amounts to 2,500 euros: about 300 for the athletes of the Totana Base Football Club, 40 for the players of the Totana Olympic and 50 for those of the Futsal Capuchin Club.
The municipal officials thanked the management representatives of the clubs that promoted this initiative for their involvement in making this action a reality, and said they hope that it can be extended to other clubs in successive seasons to boost the visibility of the archaeological site in the different sports disciplines .
Delivery sports equipment clubs
This act also served to deliver different material to different clubs in Totana in order to contribute, in part, to alleviate their needs for sports both in training and in competitions.
At the same meeting, managerial representatives of the local Basketball, Kuore Tennis, Table Tennis, Chess and Skate clubs;
who received from the local authorities a variety of material, with an equitable technical distribution, and whose total amount is around 2,500 euros approximately, according to sources from the Department of Sports.
In this case, basketball balls, tennis balls, badminton flyers, various chess material, a table tennis table, skate training material and rhythmic gymnastics equipment (ropes and balls) were delivered.
The municipal government officials reiterated that they will continue to work hand in hand with sports clubs to comply with the material needs they have and thanked them for their work in favor of grassroots and quarry sports in the municipality.
