The Councilor for Social Welfare, Javier Baños attended last Monday to the Regional Council of Violence against Women, representing the municipal entities that make up this entity, convened by the Ministry of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy.
During the session, issues such as the annual activities report of the General Directorate for Women and Gender Diversity in matters of equality, and information on the Covenant against Gender Violence were addressed.
In addition, he realized the distinctions that will be granted by the Autonomous Community on 25-N on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The reports of the Regional Advisory Council against Violence on Women for the Commission against Discrimination and Gender Violence of the Regional Assembly for the year 2018 were also presented.
The Council of Violence against Women in the Region was chaired by the Minister of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, Isabel Franco, and they are part, on a rotating basis, representing the Murcia municipalities, the consistories of Totana, Mazarrón and Campos del Río, although only the mayor Totanero met.
Finally, the actions carried out in the area of ​​Gender Violence in terms of its resource network were presented (112, Emergency Center for Battered Women and their children, shelters and sheltered apartment, Red CAVI and PAE, Prevention and Comprehensive Care services for victims of sexual abuse or assault and minors exposed to gender violence).
Likewise, other actions in this area were presented, such as the "Companies for a society free of Gender Violence" initiative and the agreements with Civil Protection and the municipalities of Alcantarilla, Lorca and Murcia were presented.
Finally, other projects developed with grants to entities and associations in the field of Gender Violence and other forms of violence against women that are being carried out with funds from the State Pact against GBV and with funds from Participatory Budgets 2019 were analyzed .
