The Bureau of Statistics of the Department of Citizen Services of the City of Totana reports that only a total of 26 foreign residents in this municipality have applied for registration at the polling station to exercise their right to vote in the municipal elections on May 26 .
Foreign residents of 12 countries could do so until yesterday January 15 to vote in the municipal elections, under the agreements of international reciprocity of vote in local elections that Spain maintains with foreign countries.
Of the 26 foreign residents in Totana, 14 are from Ecuador, 9 are from Bolivia and 3 are from Colombia, according to sources at the City's Bureau of Statistics.
Citizens of Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, New Zealand, Bolivia, Cape Verde, Korea, Iceland and Trinidad and Tobago could participate in this procedure.
To exercise the right to vote in the municipal elections, they must be of legal age and comply with the established conditions.
These are to be in possession of the authorization of residence in Spain and to have resided legally and uninterruptedly during, at least, five years previous to their request of inscription in the electoral census.
It must also be registered in the municipal register of your habitual residence, where you can exercise the right to vote.
