The mayor, Andrés García, accompanied by the councilman of Urbanism, Carlos Ballester, today accompanied representatives of the Producers Association of Pimentón del Valle del Guadalentín during his act of promotion through the free distribution of 2,000 samples, in envelopes of 50 grams , of paprika among the users and assistants to the weekly market of Totana.
Along with the samples of paprika, the producers, who installed an exhibit in an area of ​​great traffic in the market, also gave a thousand ballots for a raffle, all to promote the use of this indigenous food product as well as its quality compared to others foreign.
The producers were in the weekly market giving information about the benefits of their product and explaining to the visitors the procedure of cultivation and commercialization of the same.
In addition, they have given account of the production and elaboration of the products and selected fruits, all of them cultivated in the totanero field, whose procedure of desrabado and desbinzado follows the artisan tradition of several generations in this municipality.
