In the event, promoted by the students of 6th grade, students of the fifth Primary Education courses of all the schools of the municipality of Totana and Aledo will participate.
The educational community of the CEIP "San Jose" of Totana has organized the II Interscholastic Orientation Day to be held on November 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the vicinity of the school as part of an educational project transversal and interdisciplinary that has involved the students of the sixth year of this center through cooperative learning, in collaboration with the teaching staff and the AMPA.
The Physical Education teacher, José Domingo Ruiz, the Councilor for Sports, Isabel María Molino, the President of the Orientation Club of Totana, Salvador Martínez, and three school spokespersons for the rest of the students have presented in the hall of the school this new edition of the project that culminates with the celebration of this sport and coexistence test;
in which more than half a thousand students from Totana and Aledo will meet.
The project has been carried out, for the second consecutive year, from the area of Applied Knowledge and Physical Education, and has had the collaboration of tutors and teachers of these subjects.
For the organization of the meeting, the students have had to work, together with the help of their tutors and professors, in an interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary way, several subjects of study.
In the sports event, students from the fifth year of Primary Education will participate in all the schools of the municipality of Totana and Aledo;
and it is an orientation day in which ten routes have been designed (from A to J) in spaces close to the school, with a refreshment station.
Each participant will be able to carry out all the trips that he can during the time that the activity lasts and then he will be able to enjoy the aforementioned refreshment thanks to the sponsors who collaborate in this project.
In this sense, it has had to use diverse computer applications, applying the knowledge of the areas of Language (writing of mails and permits, contacts with sponsors, etcetera) and Mathematics (preparation of budgets), cooperative work and development of the citizen participation (function of sports volunteers), among others, as explained by the students promoting this initiative.
This day, which started last year with a vocation for continuity, aims to enable the coexistence and enjoyment of the school community of Totana through the practice of this sport;
and to inform Totana's students about the facilities of the school and the San José neighborhood itself, as indicated.
Likewise, the students have appreciated the inestimable collaboration of the entire educational community of the school and of the Physical Education teachers of all the centers of the municipality, as well as of the Orientation Club of Totana, the Department of Sports and the sponsors themselves.
For her part, the councilor congratulated and thanked the educational community and the physical education teachers of Totana for their involvement in this interscholastic activity;
and has encouraged them to continue in this line of innovation and educational promotion;
At the time he recalled that the first edition was already a success with the participation of more than 400 schoolchildren.
The mayor Isabel María Molino has advocated that this initiative be extended to the entire Region of Murcia and remain in time.
This year the II Orientation Workshop expects to surpass the 515 participating students, among sportsmen and collaborators who promote this initiative of the sixth course of the CEIP "San José".
