The City Council deeply regrets the misinterpretation of the Monarchical Union of Spain on the king's painting in the plenary hall

And remember that it is one of the few institutions that has a collaboration agreement on the occasion of the Centennial of the City

The City of Totana deeply regrets the misinterpretation made by the Monarchical Union of Spain on the king's painting donated temporarily by this entity for its placement in the plenary hall and the failure made to the municipal institution, through a public statement, with reason for the last ordinary plenary session in June .

The municipal government wants to point out that at no time has wanted to undermine the gesture of the Monarchical Union of Spain since the king's picture has remained in the same place and with the same relevance and preference of visual impact than in recent months.

As it is easy to interpret, the only particularity about the facts denounced in the plenary session last Thursday was due to an eventual and casual circumstance that the video screen used for training sessions directed to public employees during the last weeks remained unfolded transitorily, without that none of those present realized to correct this involuntary fact.

Therefore, we want to reiterate that at no time can we deduce an institutional gesture of disobedience, ingratitude or disloyalty as we want to transfer it to public opinion in said communiqué, but a mere temporary and transitory eventuality resulting from carelessness in any case.

The mayor of Totana, Andrés García, has transferred to the people in charge of the Monarchical Union of Spain in the municipality of Totana the reality and the development of the facts, recognizing these the inopportunity and incovenience of the press release of the entity they represent .

The City Council wants to remind you that this municipal institution has always maintained an attitude of closeness and loyalty to the parliamentary monarchy and the Royal House, which is why the attempt to discredit this frivolous public denunciation is incomprehensible.

In addition, from the totanero Consistory is advocated, as it could not be otherwise, by compliance with current legislation respecting and defending the institutions that the Spanish citizenship has been granted.

In fact, last January the current mayor signed a collaboration agreement with a neighbor of Totana individually, the fruit of that will and spirit of openness and fidelity with the values that represents our monarchy in contemporary Spanish society, for place an oil portrait of HM King Felipe VI in the plenary hall coinciding with the celebration of the Centennial of the City 1918-2018, which is commemorated during this year in Totana.

The purpose of this assignment was to place this table throughout 2018 so that it could be part of the commemorative activities scheduled this year on the occasion of this anniversary, and will continue to do so.

From the City of Totana reiterates that despite the deterioration that seeks to promote this statement to the municipal institution, will continue to work hand in hand with associations, entities and neighborhood and institutional groups that promote those values that contribute to the development of constitutional principles and democratic values.
