Totana has submitted a total of seven projects, for the time being, to the Leader call through the local action group "Campoder" for 2017/2021, of which three were made by the City Council and another four were carried out by entities or private companies located in the historic center and the territory between the N-340 towards El Paretón.
Among productive and non-productive projects, the municipality of Totana has offered 11% of the projects presented within the framework of the entire Campoder territory.
In the case of Campoder, the almost 110,000 inhabitants living in the municipalities of Fuente Ãlamo and Puerto Lumbreras and part of the municipalities of Ãguilas, Cartagena, Lorca, Mazarrón, Murcia and Totana can benefit.
Municipal authorities, among which were the mayor, Andrés García, and the first deputy mayor and councilor for Economic Development, Juan José Cánovas, and municipal technicians, last week held a working meeting with the manager of Campoder, Miguel Buendía , (local action group that manages the European Leader Funds) to analyze the call that ended on 15 January.
The promotion and dissemination strategy of the second call for these funds that is open until December 20 of this year was established, to which they can ask for advice to all those who are interested in the ground floor of the main building of the City Council.
In the same way, the actions of the Rural Development workshops that were developed in the last quarter of the year began.
This program consists of an allocation of just over 3 million euros, divided into 6 lines of action, with which it is intended to support projects aimed at training agents in the territory, improving employability and cooperation.
In addition, it advocates the start-up, expansion or transfer of micro-enterprises, protection of environmental heritage, promotion of rural heritage, tourism and basic infrastructure in less inhabited population centers, among other objectives.
These aids are co-financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) by 63% and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia by 37%.
