The Court of Contentious-Administrative Number 6 of Murcia has dismissed the claim made by the Association of Friends of the Archaeological Site of La Bastida (ASBA) against the public tender on the management of site visits promoted in its day by the City of Totana , condemning him in costs in a final judgment.
This has been announced by the councilor of Archaeological Sites, Juan José Cánovas, who has shown his satisfaction with the judicial decision, since, as he said, "comes to demonstrate that the management has been right from the legal point of view and in the defense of the general interests of the residents of Totana ".
The Governing Board agreed in May 2017, being Juan José Cánovas mayor, the award of the management contract of the public service of promotions activities in the archaeological site of La Bastida to the merchant "Conexión Cultural, SL", basically guided tours and promotion of thematic workshops.
The councilor recalled that ASBA, previous awardee of said service, did not agree at the time with this resolution of the Governing Board and sued the City Council;
and has specified that "it is concluded now that the Department has adjusted it to the law".
In this regard, Juan José Cánovas has recognized and extolled the work being done by researchers at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in the La Bastida field, although he specified that "the owner of the archaeological heritage of the park is the town of Totana and its management corresponds exclusively to the City Council ".
ASBA provided this service to the totanero Consistory, through the award of different temporary contracts, initially from February to December 2015, after February 2016 to 2017, and during the months of March, April and May 2017.
For its part, the merchant "Conexión Cultura, SL" has been providing this service since June 2017, ending the contract in May 2019.
