The town of Totana perform a tribute to "Antonio Machado and the roots totaneras" with a poetry reading that will be borne by the Cultural Association "Seed Fund" of the town, to be held tomorrow, Thursday March 25 at eight average Sociocultural pm at the "Jail."
This event, which will be attended by the Councillor of Institutional Relations, Trini Cayuela, is part of the "Cultural Program" organized by the Culture Department of the City of Totana, which started last February and will run until the month April, which includes various theater activities, ceremonies, exhibitions, and poetry, among other things.
Biography
Antonio Machado was born in Seville, 1875 - Collioure, 1939) Spanish poet.
Although influenced by modernism and symbolism, his work is lyrical expression of the ideology of the Generation of 98.
Son of folklorist Antonio Machado y Alvarez and Ana Ruiz Hernández.
Younger brother of poet Manuel Machado, spent his childhood in Seville and in 1883 settled with his family in Madrid.
His mother was the daughter of Ana Isabel Ruiz Hernández Oller, born in Totana (Murcia) in 1820.
