The director general of the Ministry of Education, Jose Daniel Martin, the Vice Chancellor for University Extension UMU, Guillermo Diaz, the councilman of Education of the City of Totana, Trini Cayuela, and the institute's director, José Manuel Martínez, have delivery diplomas and certificates of the third class of International Baccalaureate Secondary School "Juan de la Cierva", consisting of 21 students.

These students completed these studies last year and six of them have also received a diploma, enabling them to continue their studies in any European university.

The ceremony was held at the auditorium of the IES "Juan de la Cierva y Codorniu", has also benefited from the presence of this high school teacher, responsible for corporate sponsors, family and friends of the graduates.

This center has been the first in the Region of Murcia in providing this high school, which he has joined the IES Alfonso X the Wise of the capital, which are the only ones that provide this type of education throughout the region.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a comprehensive training plan with a curriculum of two years proposed by the International Baccalaureate Oragnization, held parallel and in conjunction with two courses of the regular school Spanish curriculum.

Students who have completed high school can achieve this dual degree as they meet the objectives of the national curriculum to better prepare them to access the Spanish university, while acquiring an adequate preparation for the exam proposed by the IBO and get the diploma, that will open the doors of foreign universities.

As the institute's director said during the presentation of diplomas, the fundamental objective is to train students with a balanced education, comprehensive and independent, promote the formation of world citizens concerned with understanding and solidarity as well as easy mobility international.

Also, both the director general of the Ministry of Education as the Vice Chancellor of University Extension, congratulated the students who have put so much effort and desire to move forward with these studies, because in this way, supports the advancement of society sitting the foundations of a Europe of education that respects the spirit of the training.

For his part, Councillor for Education, which also gave congratulations to the educational community for the third promotion of the International Baccalaureate, recalled that through the involvement of all groups, including the City Council spends € 18,000 per year, can carry to place this great project that allows students to further deepen the knowledge.
