The City Council of Totana through the outsourcing of service of the municipal swimming pool by the Department of Sports, will allow the improvement of sports facilities and an increase in the quality and number of activities and services offered to citizens, according to informed the Councillor for Sports, José Antonio Valverde Queen.
This initiative, which will be discussed by the full City Council on Tuesday 29 July, is part of the savings package aimed at cleaning up the city coffers that are in the guidelines contained within the Economic and Financial Plan adopted by the corporation on 31 July.
The City Council of Totana, ask the contractor for this service the investment of 1,000,000 euros, which will be allocated to the construction of new facilities within and outside the enclosure as well as improving existing ones.
In this sense, the mayor announced that this project involves the construction of two paddle in one part of the current parking ciclyng room with 30 bicycles, a cardio room, weight room, a multipurpose room and an activities directed, also a snack bar, solarium, spa line with the latest technologies and innovations, and an area with Turkish bath and sauna.
The works will have a lead time of between 3 and 6 months and has advanced as mayor, will take place from the month of September 2008 to March 2009.
