More than 700 people gathered yesterday, December 22, at the Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez" of our town to celebrate a new edition of "Bicycle Day", which was scheduled for the 1st of December, but was postponed due to bad weather conditions.
This event, which is framed in the broad program of sports events organized on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Santa Eulalia, once again brought many families and friends of the village.
On this occasion, the day began at 9:30 am with registration and ending in the "Marcos Ortiz" municipal park, at 13:00 hours, with the draw for three bikes, bags and gifts delivery awards.
During registration, several components of the Cycling Club Totana balloons distributed to all participants to take them away on their bikes tied throughout the tour.
The march began at 11:15 hours from the lateral MOVE Sports Center.
The tour lasted approximately 45 minutes and went through some of the most central streets of Totana.
On arrival of the participants to the park, the President of the Cycling Club Totana, Antonio Garcia, took the floor to explain that Enrique Rosa Noguera, founder and first president of the Cycling Club Totana, left commissioned before his death, which in the Bicycle Day balloons gift was for the participants and, once finished up a release of doves and balloons can be conducted.
The Cycling Club Totana felt obliged to make such a request in memory of Enrique Rosa, as it was one of his wishes and did so this year, managing to give more color and joy to the event.
Then he proceeded to award the most original youngest participant (Teresa Martínez Hernández), the oldest participant (Martin Romero Andreo), the largest group (Hernandez family, consisting of 21 families) and the participant ( Miguel Ãngel López Romero).
These awards consisted of a trophy and a voucher for the month of January in the MOVE Sports Center.
Next, 16 bags containing a helmet purchased by the Department of Sports and various cycling materials company-sponsored "Industries Vicma" were raffled.
Subsequently 5 vouchers for Municipal Gym "Jail" and 2 vouchers for the month of January in the MOVE Sports Center were raffled.
Ultimately three bikes donated by Antonio Martínez Sport Bike, Planet Bike and the Sports Council were drawn, each with a voucher for the month of January in the MOVE Sports Centre
All prizes and gifts were presented by Francisco Hernández Guerrero, Councillor for Public Safety.
Finally, from the Sports Council is appreciated, once again, the collaboration of Civil Protection, Local Police, Sports Volunteer Services Department of the City and the staff of the Department of Sports, who have made this event takes place.
