Totana City Council, through the Department of Education and Commerce, is leading the development of a series of meetings aimed at facilitating the beginning of next school year to totaneros, along with AMPAS schools in this county and the booksellers, to create a clearinghouse for textbooks and buy books and school supplies with big discounts for the course 2013/14.
The initiative of the Parish Caritas Santiago before the finding of the economic difficulties many families are having Totana to purchase textbooks and school supplies.
To do this, it is working in collaboration with schools through the Associations of Parents and booksellers of the municipality as members of the Merchants Association for the implementation of both projects.
These include the creation in schools of a Bank Textbook Exchange and the purchase of books and school supplies in Totana libraries discounts to all those parents who manage their purchase through the Associations of Parents.
The ultimate goal of this process is the awareness of the educational community to foster care and reuse of textbooks and financial support to families considering that for these initiatives to be successful, it must have the cooperation and participation of as many students as possible.
According to sources from the Department of Education, at present, are being finalized agreements will be announced soon through the media and schools.
