The City of Murcia Totana and the Institute for Social Action (IMAS) of the Autonomous Region have signed on recently for the first time, the collaboration agreement that will allow the maintenance of the services provided in the Day Centre for People with Illness Mental located in the Carmen Conde street of this town in the district Tirol-Camilleri.
The City Council of Totana years has been developing activities for people with some kind of mental problem, through a Municipal Psychosocial Support Program, but under this new agreement will provide the service and care resource and rehabilitation and promotion of this group.
The Local Government Board has recently given the green light to the agreement signed between the mayor and the minister of Health and Social Policy, María Ãngeles Palacios, for the operation of new infrastructure for the disabled versatile, opened earlier this year.
The councilman of Social Care, Josefa María Sánchez, explained that this agreement is held to cover care for people with mental illness in a situation of dependency, the number of seats to be arranged will be up to 25 users and technical staff and profsional, amounting up to 348,375 euros.
He recalled that at the Day Center provided basic services such as assistance in basic activities of daily living, therapeutic services for prevention, counseling and guidance for the promotion of autonomy, social care and rehabilitation, care and personal development psychological and social care, occupational therapy, functional rehabilitation, communication and multi-sensory stimulation.
Also, develop intervention programs, such as improvement in cognitive, psycho and social participation and integration, food and nutrition, grooming, hygiene and bladder control, prevention of falls and postural hygiene, among other performance.
Other services provided to users are the social skills, self care, communication, community use, motor skills and physical development, health and safety advice to families / guardians, psychosocial support and pre-service training.
