The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, has announced the final approval of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) of the General Urban Plan Municipal (PGOUM) of this town, by the Technical Committee on the Environment Directorate General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, held last December 22.
Martínez Andreo explained that this decision will be published shortly in the end BORM environmental review process PGOUM and has taken a "giant step" towards final approval of the document.
He pointed out that going to transfer this agreement to the Directorate General of Urbanism, so that within three months in the first quarter of 2011, dictate a resolution to agree on the aspects that can be applied and grinding, respectively.
The councilman said that the DIA collects the three main arguments made by the city of Totana, so that buffer strip away the 1,000 meters over the limits of the Espuña and ecological corridors that have been approved lead through public channels not affect future developments.
Similarly, another argument collection relates to the reclassification of agricultural cultivation area between the highway A-7 and the river Guadalentín, remaining as inappropriate undeveloped land where building is allowed in areas of 5,000 and 10,000 square feet by farmers and ranchers who is proposing the PGOUM, except for areas near the Guadalentín Saladares.
He highlighted the good work done by technicians from both government and reiterated that the DIA has been definitively adopted with changes and arguments given by the same municipality.
