The covering of the sports track of the CEIP "San José" and the rehabilitation of the Theater of the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel" of Totana are the projects most supported by the neighbors in the public consultation carried out within the participatory process of the Works Plan and Services (POS) for the years 2018/19.
The councilors of Citizen Participation and Infrastructure, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez and Víctor Balsas, have reported the conclusive results in the online citizen consultation that was held, through the municipal website, between March 20 to April 8, and that it has been promoted jointly by both municipal departments.
During this time, the neighbors have chosen the projects in which the budget contemplated by this program will be invested, jointly financed by the Autonomous Community, through the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations, and the City Council itself.
In addition, it has been possible to know the assessment and opinion of citizens regarding the six shortlisted projects.
Thus, in the two annuities indicated, the works covering the sports track of the CEIP "San José" (232,320 euros) will be carried out, which has had a support of 1,318 points (20.6%);
and the rehabilitation of the "Ginés Rosa" Theater of the Socio-cultural Center "La Cárcel" (240,000 euros), which has recorded a result of 1,257 points (19.6%).
Next, the citizen consultation has shown the following results: paving and improvement of the San Antonio street supply network (16.1% -1,027 points);
energy audit in four municipal buildings (14.7% -941 points-);
construction bike lane and paving of the service road between the streets Jacinto Benavente, Tirso de Molina and road located next to the bar "Los Tubos" (14.6% -936 points-).
Finally, the last project chosen, in this order, was the arrangement of the Juan Teresa Road in two blocks, from the Guadalentín River to the RM-D1 highway and from the junction of the Camino del Colegio to the RM-315 highway (14 , 4% -919 points-).
In the public consultation, a total of 505 surveys were obtained, of which 1 443 were valid and 62 null (duplicate, incomplete or erroneous data).
Of this, 55% of the participants were women and 45% men.
Around 73% of the participants are between the ages of 18 and 49 and are of Spanish nationality;
while participation by foreign citizens has been about 1%.
The total budget for both annuities amounts to almost 460,000 euros, of which 430,000 euros are financed by the Autonomous Community, under a grant of 215,000 euros in 2018 and another for the same amount in 2019;
and the remaining 22,500 euros are contributed by the Totanero Consistory.
The Works and Services Plan 2018/2019 has a multi-year nature, covering the expenditure commitment of the Autonomous Community for the amount corresponding to the two annuities, which will allow the possibility of reuse of the remainders that are generated.
In the edition of the year 2017, in which the construction of the San José neighborhood park (which is in the bidding process and whose works will start in the coming weeks, with a budget of 93,000 euros) was chosen, a total of 817 participated people, while this time they have been 443 valid.
