The residents of Totana can participate during the next weeks of November in the "Recycle and win" contest to encourage the recycling of waste, within the campaign of information and environmental awareness that the City of Totana makes in collaboration with the company "Ecoembalajes Spain , SA "(Ecoembes) with the ultimate goal of encouraging the reduction of solid urban waste, the separation at source and the consequent recycling of packaging.
The initiative includes two specific actions through two separate contests called "Recycle and win" and "In recycling, you paint a lot", which have been developed with great success in previous editions;
and that in the first case it is addressed to the general public, and in the second case, exclusively to 4th grade primary school students from the educational centers of the municipality of Totana.
This initiative aims to promote the recycling of the population in general and, more specifically, the selective collection in Totana, so that a reward will be awarded to the citizens as a reward for the effort they make from their homes, separating their waste for later take them to a "mobile green point" and deposit them in the corresponding container.
Participants can take their waste from plastic containers, cans and bricks or paper-cardboard to the "mobile green point" -formed by a mobile information point and four selective collection containers- during the days of development of the contest (from 14 to November 30), at the time set for it, from 11:00 to 12:30 and from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., respectively.
The "mobile green point" will travel through the following locations on the dates indicated: November 14 and 15, Juan de la Cierva square (in front of Glorieta);
November 16 and 17, La Santa rambla (in front of the municipal park);
November 18 and 19, Cañaza Zamora (Rosa and San Ramón streets intersection);
November 20 and 21, Jardín Tierno Galván;
November 22nd and 23rd, San Francisco de Asís street (next to the fairgrounds);
and November 29 and 30, Plaza de la Constitución.
For each waste deposit (at least one complete waste bag is understood), the environmental educator will deliver to the citizen a participation card (data of the contestant) that will be entered in an urn, from which the draw will be made to deliver the prize of the winner of a one-night stay for two people in a spa in the Region of Murcia.
In addition, in support of the campaign, 70 posters and 1,000 information brochures will be published on the procedure and development of the same that will be distributed by establishments and public spaces in the locality.
The councilors responsible for Environmental Education and RSU, Isabel María Molino and Antonia Camacho, encourage neighbors to participate in these awareness actions given the importance of its role in the recycling of light packaging and paper-board with the consequent environmental care.
