In the last ordinary plenary session of July, the MSG presented a motion on this benign but cruel disease, a motion that was unanimously approved by all political groups.

Endometriosis is a disease that is affected by 14 million women and girls of childbearing age in the European Union and 176 million worldwide who have no curative treatment and are strongly associated with infertility.

Socialists have called for more measures to reduce the time it takes to detect this disease, since the average time to make a diagnosis is around nine years and a woman has to visit at least five different doctors or specialists Until the disease is diagnosed.

Likewise, they indicate that the most worrying aspects of the endometriosis-adenomyosis epidemic are its chronic and enormous alteration in the quality of life of women who suffer from it, the lack of non-surgical diagnostic tools, the only way being a Laparoscopy that does not guarantee the elimination of the tumor, the absence of medication or curative therapy, being the only option surgical or pharmacological menopause, as well as its relation with infertility.

In this way, the Municipal Socialist Group urges the Regional Government and the State to promote all the public policies necessary for the improvement in the detection and treatment of endometriosis while, from the municipalities, information and education campaigns are promoted Menstrual and sexual health, especially among the girls and young people of our municipality, as well as facilitating from the local institutions the training and extension of knowledge about endometriosis and the necessary care for those affected, among health workers in public health centers and hospitals .

In short, endometriosis is a very common disease among women, but very invisible by medicine, science and society pointing out that, despite what you can think of, endometriosis "is not a simple pain of rule."
