The young man who recently finished his studies in nursing returned home after spending a few days visiting the city of Edinburgh with his family.
So as the young totanero Antonio Cayuela relates, halfway through the journey while he was resting, he heard the public address pilot report an emergency and that someone with sanitary knowledge was needed.
Nervously she threw everything she carried on her way down the narrow corridor until she saw an elderly lady, with an apparent cardio-respiratory arrest, surrounded by the eyes of the passengers in the vicinity.
"I'm a nurse," he announced.
Together with another nurse who was also on the same flight, they began performing the cardio-pulmonary resuscitation maneuver.
"It was really complicated to maneuver with ease in that space so small," Totana.com tells the young totanero.
When they managed to stabilize the situation a little they decided to move it with the help of the hostesses to the front of the plane to be able to continue the care in a more efficient way.
The pilot asked if an emergency landing would be necessary at the nearest airport, but he did not opt for that option as the situation was improving.
After an hour more flight, the arrival at the airport of Alicante where an ambulance was waiting to transfer the patient of Scottish origin to the nearest hospital.
Between applause and thanks to the team work and the collaboration of the crew, the landing took place with the situation controlled and with a favorable prognosis.
