The City of Totana has recently received a grant awarded by the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment for € 19,504.24 to undertake improvements and modernization in the Plaza de Abastos in this town, located on the Rambla de La Santa
The Councilor for the Weekly Market and Plaza de Abastos, Gertrudis Ruiz, explained that such aid has been granted under the order of the Autonomous Community granting subsidies to Local Corporations for the modernization of municipal markets for supplies, As a measure of promotion and dynamization of the commercial sector in the Region.
With this grant, it will be possible to undertake a project to adapt Totana's Plaza de Abastos, which has a total amount of 22,946.16 euros, of which a part is financed with the aid granted of 19,504.24 euros and this is completed with A municipal contribution of 3,441.92 euros.
It is estimated that the completion of these improvements in Plaza de Abastos will last approximately two months, from the award and start of the same, as indicated by the council of the branch.
The actions to be carried out will consist of the renovation of the exterior tile placating of the posts, the reform of the ceiling and subsequent painting of the same, as well as the placement of a door in the main façade.
In addition, work will be done to repair existing toilets, adapting them to the use of people with disabilities, replacement of sinks and modification of the current steps of access to the building, among others.
The mayor has stated that all these measures and reforms planned in this municipal infrastructure are aimed at enhancing and modernizing this municipal service in the market of supplies.
