This Tuesday, September 15, the Commission for the Assessment of Aid to the self-employed, micro-enterprises and SMEs affected by COVID-19 has met, along with the rest of the municipal technicians in charge of reviewing the files and those responsible for the municipal government.According to sources from the Department of Economic Development, Development and Employment, the purpose of this meeting and that of the previous week was to share the status of the review of said files and the doubts that arise in the interpretation of the bases for granting the aid.As of this date, around 80% of the almost 400 applications submitted by Totanero businessmen are being reviewed and the forecast is that in the remainder of September all the files will be reviewed and published, for notification purposes, the relationship of applicants proposed as beneficiaries.Thus, those who do not meet the requirements established in the call and those who have not provided all the required documentation, will have 5 business days to submit allegations.The Totana City Council has received a total of 395 grant applications from freelancers, micro-businesses and local SMEs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in this municipality; and the deadline for submitting aid applications ended on July 8.

As of that day, the City Council had 6 months to resolve, however, it is trying to speed up these procedures as soon as possible.The Plenary of the Totana City Council approved at the end of May, unanimously, the proposal of the Mayor's Office to give the green light to the budget modification of an extraordinary loan that allows to enable the announced line of aid to companies and economic groups to combat the crisis of COVID-19 in this municipality.This agreement was established after the authorization of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations to formalize expenses under the Contingency Fund for an amount of 300,000 euros, intended to help and alleviate the economic and social damage caused in the sectors of the population most affected by this locality in the wake of the pandemic.This measure aims to promote the economic and social reactivation of the municipality by granting a line of subsidies to the self-employed, micro-businesses and local SMEs affected by the socioeconomic crisis that this epidemic has caused.To make use of the aforementioned Contingency Fund provided for in the municipal budget in force, the one extended for the year 2019, the pertinent necessary credit modification was required, with a credit of 300,000 euros for expenses derived from this crisis.
