The Totana City Council has awarded 92 dining room scholarships for an amount of 87.04 euros per student to guarantee the basic right to food for schoolchildren in vulnerable situations affected by the closure of educational centers, which amounts to 5, 12 euros per minor and business day.This aid to families is granted by virtue of Royal Decree-Law 7/2020, of March 12, by which urgent measures were adopted to respond to the economic impact of COVID-19, which in Chapter II referred to the basic right of school feeding.This direct granting of subsidies was granted last week by the Government of Spain to municipalities to guarantee this basic right for the closure of educational centers for the period of the first 17 business days affected by the temporary suspension of educational activity.

This amount is basically intended to speed up the granting of urgently needed aid; to expand coverage of basic care, support, security and food for a number of elderly, disabled or dependent people.The Government of Spain has distributed 9,284,806 million euros among the municipalities of the Region of Murcia to cover the social needs caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which represents 3.097% of the total of 300,000 euros generated from extraordinary credits For this end.
