The Department of Women and Equality of the City of Totana will collaborate in the public awareness campaign promoted by the Hotel and Catering Trade Association of the Center of Totana (CHACT) for a Festival of Santiago free of gender violence.
For this, the Department will help the hoteliers who will organize festive, musical and cultural activities during the patron festivities in the Plaza de la Constitución -Templete de Santa Eulalia- with the installation of an exhibitor and information point, with posters and brochures information, which allows users and customers to raise awareness about a society free of sexist violence.
The innkeepers have initiated, precisely, an action of sensibilización in social networks and the cartelería of promotion of the organized events with which it is wanted to raise awareness and to prevent to the totanera citizenship on the sexual aggressions during the summer parties.
This awareness campaign, in the context of the festivities of Santiago 2019, arises with the aim of preventing sexual aggression and harassment of women in these contexts.
For the Department of Equality, boys and girls want to have fun in the festivities of our town and festive spaces should be safe places to be able to enjoy Equality, without violence, without risk of sexist aggression, be of the intensity that are.
Sexual violence is one of the most invisible and normalized forms of sexist violence, in such a way that it is essential to name it;
and that society as a whole is aware that we can not allow sexual assaults and that it is the responsibility of all to end them, acting in the face of aggression, supporting the victim, making it clear that it is the aggressor who must stay alone and feel ashamed, point from this department.
For the Department of Women and Equality, young and old we have a responsibility to keep our municipality safe and free of gender violence, for all.
The Department wants to thank the Hoteliers Association and all the entrepreneurs of the sector involved in this magnificent initiative on the occasion of the festivities of Santiago, to give their most resounding "NO" to this social scourge called gender violence.
