The Governing Council has authorized, at the proposal of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the expenditure of 1,929,000 euros to carry out the project of storm tank and deposit of rolling of the treatment plant of Totana , with charge to the budget of the Regional Entity for Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment (Esamur), according to sources from the regional government in a press release.

The term of execution of the work is nine months.

Currently, this treatment plant, which serves a population of 29,000 inhabitants, is designed to treat 250 m3 / hour, a flow rate that is exceeded in episodes of rain, requiring the construction of a storm tank prior to entry and a balsa that serves as a device for rolling the unitary system in rainy periods, in order to avoid the overflow of the treatment plant and the consequent discharge into the public channel.

In addition, these elements will serve as a device for retention or relief of the flows coming from the sanitation network in case of breakage or failure in the pumping of elevation of raw water of the treatment plant.
