The Department of Transportation and Taxi, with the collaboration of the City Services and Infrastructure, have incorporated the corporate image of the Centennial of the City of Totana, which is celebrated throughout this year, in the 6 licensed taxis and 35 vehicles Municipalities of different departments in order to promote this historical and cultural event.
In the different taxis that provide service in Totana, two magnets with this commemorative image have been placed on both the driver's and front passenger's doors, respectively, so that they can be attached and collected according to the needs.
For its part, in the case of municipally owned vehicles -all of them except for Local Police and Civil Protection because they are emergency vehicles- an adhesive with this image has been added to the vehicle's engine covers (cars and trucks).
In the act of delivery of the magnets and presentation of the vehicles have been present the mayor, Andrés García, the councilman of Services to the City and Infrastructure, Víctor Balsas, the president of the Association of taxi drivers of Totana, José Martínez, operators responsible for the vehicles of the different municipal services and taxi drivers that operate in this municipality.
This initiative aims to raise awareness of this anniversary that the City Council has been organizing during this year 2018, with the collaboration of a specialized technical commission of experts, which includes a broad and open program of social and cultural activities.
This Centennial event of the City commemorates the one hundredth anniversary of the concession of the title of City to Totana (1918-2018) by King Alfonso XIII, which officially started last January.
The mayor thanked the taxi drivers for their willingness to collaborate in the promotion of this event, helping to give visibility to the trips they make in and out of the municipality of Totana.
In addition, he invited, again, the whole of the Totanera society to participate in the events that come to commemorate this significant historical event as it was to move from town to town, and with which it aims to raise awareness and create concern so that it allows to put the look at our past and future.
