| The bosses request an urgent rescue plan before the third closure of the hotel business during the pandemic | Denounce the widespread mistreatment that the regional administration is dispensing to the entire hospitality industry during the pandemic and the total abandonment of a sector that has now been closed for three years.

That was the objective of the "Rodea San Esteban" event, convened this morning, Thursday, January 14, by Hostemur at the headquarters of the Government of the Murcia Region.

An act of protest to which the entire sector (businessmen, workers, related companies, clients) had been summoned, whose capacity was limited at the last minute by the Government Delegation to 100 people and before which the employers wanted to thank the collaboration of CROEM and the taxi association. "It can not only close for the third time in a row the hostelry without presenting an urgent rescue and support plan with which employers can feed their families and employ their employees," they condemn from Hostemur, where they explain that "the only thing that is being achieved is that thousands of companies go bankrupt." The hoteliers lament that this whole situation shows there is no organized plan of fight and that the only thing they are pursuing is the justification for the inability to manage the pandemic.

"We are seeing how the COVID committee is facing the situation in a totally improvised way, making decisions from one day to the next: closing the Reyes afternoon for the hotel business, then closing the interiors , now all the hospitality and family meetings yesterday ", explains Jess Jimnez, president of the employer's association. Examples elsewhere The employers denounce in a statement sent to Murcia .com that other communities are managing the pandemic with much more success, such as Madrid, where the hospitality industry has continued to be open.

"In addition, the Valencian Community yesterday approved a rescue plan for the sector for 120 million euros and here in the Region of Murcia we demand the same.

It is not worth it for us to pass the ball between the regional government and the national one ", says Jimnez, who recalls that the Murcian executive has just received more than 250 million euros from Madrid to manage the health crisis. Hostemur recalls that before the second closure -which lasted 15 days- a historic agreement was reached with the regional government, with which a package of 22 million euros was injected into the Murcian hospitality industry.

.

"These grants, which amounted to about 4,000 euros per establishment, were used to pay the rent and some more bills.

Now we want to know how we are going to be helped in this third closure, which is going to bring many businesses to the total ruin ", reported from the employer. The sector never tires of repeating that it is the first to accept the measures if they are the solution to the pandemic.

"If they close us because we are the problem, we do not want to be open, we defend the good of all," they argue.

But they demand that they not be dropped if they cannot work.

"We need a rescue plan, that we are not forced to pay rents, fees, taxes, social security We cannot be closed and forced to pay because otherwise the only thing we have left is the ruin and unemployment for all workers ", they request.
