The Minister of Business, Industry and Spokesperson, Ana Martínez Vidal, as vice president of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CRPM), took part in the event organized by the Cohesion Alliance (#CohesionAlliance) of the European Committee of the Regions (CDR) on the Relevant provisions of the Cohesion Policy, which are in the final stages of negotiation and in which the regional authorities are to be involved.
Among the issues being discussed are the transfer of funds, the thematic concentration of the European Regional Development Fund (Feder) and future challenges.Martínez Vidal stated that “it is necessary for local and regional authorities to play a key role in the design and execution of investments, within the framework of the recovery and resilience mechanism.
We believe it is crucial that the European Union Recovery Plan has a strong territorial dimension, to guarantee success in our cities and regions ”.Furthermore, it is essential that these funds are complementary and well coordinated with the structural funds, with the European Union's competition policy and with other Union funding programs.
"I hope that the European Commission supports our demands with more detailed guidance on the application of the partnership principle, specifically in relation to national recovery and resilience plans," said Martínez Vidal. The event also provided an opportunity to reiterate the key demands of the Cohesion Alliance regarding the elements of the legislative package, which are still being negotiated, and to provide insight into the future work of the Cohesion Alliance after the adoption of the new regulations.
