Impact of golf on the regional economy Cristina Sánchez highlighted the importance of golf and its role in the recovery of the regional economy, a segment that last year generated 300 million euros and 47,000 direct jobs. "The golf activity, which is one of the main seasonally adjusted tourism products in the Region of Murcia, represents a contribution to regional tourism GDP of more than 12 percent, according to the latest estimate," said Cristina Sánchez. A segment, said the counselor, that generates an approximate daily expenditure, in a golf tourist, of 180 euros, while the average of the rest of tourists does not exceed 77 euros, and each euro spent on a golf course in the Region it is multiplied by 14 in indirect expenditure in the environment.
