| The 'Camino de la Cruz' Foundation invests 46,000 euros in this state-of-the-art protection system consisting of showcases designed for the conservation of the work | The Renaissance panels by Hernando de Llanos launch a protection system that places the Region as a benchmark and at the forefront in the conservation of artistic and historical heritage. The Camino de la Cruz de Caravaca Foundation has allocated 46,000 euros to provide special state-of-the-art showcases for this series of six works that are exhibited in the municipality's Vera Cruz Sanctuary. The showcases, made in Germany, have a sustainable system based on silica that does not consume electrical energy and that places this equipment at the level of the best museums in Europe. The Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, José Francisco García, and the recently re-elected Elder Sister of the Brotherhood of the Santísima and Vera Cruz, María del Carmen López, presided over the presentation of the new display cabinets, designed to ensure optimal thermal, humidity, security and lighting conditions for the conservation of the tables that narrate 'The Miracle of Vera Cruz de Caravaca'. Cristina Sánchez explained that the use of these windows is "a historical milestone for heritage in the Region of Murcia, for guaranteeing the future of one of its great cultural symbols and that it enables the viewer to enjoy these works of art in the best lighting and visibility conditions ". "The rich historical and cultural heritage of Caravaca de Cruz provides tourist wealth to the Region of Murcia, its legacy must be exposed under the safest and most innovative systems, because ensuring its preservation is investing in the future of regional tourism and of this city", indicated the counselor. The installation of the showcases joins the action plan led by the 'Camino de la Cruz' Foundation to "promote the Region of Murcia and Caravaca de la Cruz as a cultural and pilgrimage destination, betting on the enhancement of its heritage, as well as the creation and improvement of infrastructures and the organization of cultural, environmental, sporting and leisure events. In addition, it represents the culmination of a process that the Camino de la Cruz Foundation started in 2017 with the exhibition 'Signum, the glory of the Renaissance in the Kingdom of Murcia', which promoted the restoration of the tables thanks to the collaboration of the Foundation Santander Bank. The Camino de la Cruz Foundation is made up of Grupo Fuertes, Postres Reina, Estrella Levante, Café Salzillo, Limcamar, Caixabank, Fundación UCAM, Hefame, the Brotherhood of the Santísima Cruz de Caravaca and the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia (Itrem ).
