| It describes as "unsupportive" the distribution of funds from the European Union since it does not cover the expenses assumed by the Community and municipalities to recover essential public services after the damage of last September | The Minister of Public Works compares the 2.3 million European funds distributed by the Sánchez Government with the 4.7 million already invested by the Community in urgent road repairs The regional government today branded as "unsupportive" the distribution of the European Union Solidarity Fund distributed by the central government to alleviate the damage from the damage of last September.

The Executive considers that it is not proportional to the losses caused in the Region of Murcia "by the worst rainstorm of the last 150 years". This was stated this morning by the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, after learning that the Region of Murcia "will only receive 2.3 million euros" of the 57 granted by the European Union to the State to alleviate the torrential rains last year. "We were the most affected autonomous community and instead we only obtain 4 percent of the funds allocated by Brussels," said the regional head, who indicated that, as has recently happened with the coronavirus, "the central government penalizes our good management in the emergency of the dana ". He regretted that "the Government of Pedro Sánchez has made an arbitrary distribution of the Solidarity Fund and, that it once again punishes and gives unfair treatment to both the Autonomous Community and the affected municipalities, which together justified emergency works worth 10.7 million, and it transfers only a fifth of the initial expenses to us.

" He stated that only in urgent repairs of regional highways the Autonomous Community has already invested 4.7 million euros, so it considers "insufficient" the amount corresponding to the Region of Murcia of European funds to repair basic public services.

. He also stressed that it was the regional president himself who motivated the activation of this fund, which he personally claimed in Brussels, and demanded to know the distribution criteria because "I doubt that the principle of subsidiarity promulgated by the European Union is met," he said. The Minister of Development concluded that with this "unfair" distribution of the Solidarity Fund, "they are not harming the regional government, or the municipal governments: they are harming all those affected by the floods in the Region of Murcia."
