The Community announces aid for the beekeeping sector amounting to 434,000 euros to improve production and marketing

| The deadline for submitting applications ends on Monday, July 20 | The general director of Agricultural, Livestock and Marine Environment Production, Francisco Espejo, announced today, on the occasion of his visit to the natural honey company Apideflor, the aid to beekeeping that, for the amount of 434,000 euros, will be distributed by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment among the holders of beekeeping operations and the groups of beekeepers who attend the call. Espejo indicated that the object of these grants is "the promotion of those activities aimed at improving the production and marketing of beekeeping products, contemplated in the National Beekeeping Plan for the 2020-2022 triennium." Those interested must meet the requirements established in the call, published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) on Friday, July 10, and must have their farms registered in the Beekeeping Registry of the Region of Murcia (REGA ) and carry out the beekeeping activity before January 1; perform at least one treatment per year against varroosis; have civil liability insurance; comply with the rules of management of beekeeping operations; have completed the last mandatory annual census statement before March 1; and keep on the farm all the live hives included in the application during the entire apicultural campaign and notify the number of hives that cause loss with respect to the requested. Specifically, the activities or investments of information and technical assistance to beekeepers may be the object of aid; those of fight against the aggressions and diseases of the hives; measures to rationalize transhumance; support measures for laboratories for the analysis of bee products to help beekeepers to market and value their products; measures to support the repopulation of the beekeeping herd; and actions to improve the quality of products in order to exploit their potential in the market. The deadline for submission of applications will be ten calendar days, counted from the day following the date of publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Region, so it will conclude next Monday, July 20.
