THE “I SOLIDARITY MARCH”, ORGANISED BY “D´GENES” AND THE ASSOCIATION OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS OF LORCA, IN COLLABORATION WITH TOTANA'S TOWN COUNCIL, WILL BE HELD THIS SUNDAY 29TH MARCH AT TWELVE O'CLOCK MIDDAY FROM THE PLAZA DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN
The “I Solidarity March”, organised by the Association of Rare Diseases and Degenerative Disorders from Development “D´Genes” and the Association of Multiple Sclerosis from the Area III of Lorca (AEMA III) in collaboration with the Local Ministries of Social Welfare and Health, will be held this Sunday 29th March and will leave at twelve midday from the Plaza de la Constitución.
This solidarity march, which tries to raise awareness among the population on the problems of these diseases, was presented this morning by the Local Minister of Social Welfare, Juan Carrión, the Local Minister of Health, Trini Cayuela and representatives from both associations.
The initiative has been pushed by the Association of Multiple Sclerosis from Área III of Lorca (AEMA III), which has been running these types of solidarity events in the municipalities which form part of the Area of Health III., with the aim of raising citizen awareness and create spaces of awareness raising and living together.
Through this solidarity march, they are trying to create a common space for both associations and all those people who would like to join them, to unite their effort and work to improve the quality of life of these people as well as their family members, and that these illnesses be covered by two associations who fight for the defence of their rights.
The march, which leaves at 12:00 from the Plaza de la Constitución, will go through the main streets of the locality for an hour and a half and will have the collaboration of the Local Ministry of Citizen Safety, and Local Police, who will ensure the smooth running of the event.
To carry out the awareness raising campaign and captation of members, there will be an informative kiosk in the Plaza de la Constitución from 10:00 for all those people who would like to enrol in this march. Everyone who takes part will receive a t-shirt.
Lastly, representatives of the Multiple Sclerosis Association from Área III from Lorca (AEMA III), Antonio García and Pablo Moreno, and the president of “D´Genes”, Naca Pérez de Tudela, thanked Totana's Town Council for their collaboration and encouraged citizens to take part in this march, which tries, among other things, to continue the fight against social exclusion and the integration of all people.
