A TOTAL OF 177 PEOPLE GOT A JOB THROUGH THE MANOEUVRES UNDERTAKEN BY THE LOCAL EMPLOYMENT CENTRE FOR WOMEN AND YOUNG PEOPLE LAST YEAR.
A total of 177 people from the municipality got a job thanks to the manoeuvres undertaken by the Local Employment Centre for Women and Young People during last year. The Local Minister of Women and Young People, Josefa María Sánchez Méndez, has revealed the positive results obtained in 2008 by the Local Employment Centre for Women and Young People.
In this centre, said the Local Minister, a total of 1155 people are enrolled on the job list and or for training, of which 996 are women and 159 are people aged under 25.
The most frequent consultations made by women are related to career guidance, which vary from drawing up CVs, to active job seeking as well as overcoming job interview, without forgetting important such as meeting their training needs and the assessment needs to carry out their own business initiatives. “Statistics confirm this fact”, according to Sánchez Méndez, as 561 women ask for career guidance and training and 66 for advice to set up their own business.
With respect to young people under 25 who have gone to this service, 123 were men and 206 women who asked for career guidance, 30 women and 24 men asked for advice on setting up their own business and 20 women and 7 men asked for information on training offers.
Moreover, the Local Employment Centre has run a total of 160 courses derived from people's interest. In particular the following courses stand out: “Attention and Care of Dependent People”, “Basic IT”, “Intermediate IT” and “Advanced IT”, “English Courses”, courses from the “Local Ministry of Sport”, and the “Adult Education College”, etc. aimed at unemployed people as well as workers.
They have managed a total of 118 job offers, through visits to businesses, Web Pages, proposed directly by businessman and other means.
The total number of jobs managed from the Centre was 320 and they used 177 users for the direct management of the Local Employment Centre.
Lastly, the Local Minister reminded neighbours of the Local Employment Centre created in 2001, financed by the Institute of Women and Youth from the Region of Murcia and cofinanced by the European Social Fund. The Centre is also enrolled in the Network of 45 existing Local Job Centres in the Region of Murcia.
In addition she encouraged all people that who are looking for work, unemployed as well as workers who want a better job, to use this service, which has had good results from its beginnings, and especially now, at a time of economic crisis.
To benefit from this service, people interested should go to the Local Development Centre in the Industrial estate “El Saladar”, or get in contact with Teresa Martínez or Mª José Sánchez on 968 49 05 12 and968 42 50 03 from 9:00 to 15:00.
In the Local Employment Centre you can find totally free services on managing job lists, Employment and Training, intermediation work, maintaining the itinerary on work training, training and career guidance, advice on ways of work insertion and complementary training such as grants, university studies, training cycles and / or access among others. It also offers support in asking and transmitting microcredits for women and young people and on the participation of young people in the Eurodisea Programme.
