Totana's Town Council,
through the Local Ministry of Services and Integral City Maintenance, is adding
the final touches to the main streets of the locality through which the
processions will pass, as well as the squares of the centre with deep cleaning,
painting and gardening for events and processions of Semana Santa 2009.
During
these previous days to the main events, the Local Ministry has programmed a calendar
of actions to clean and prepare the most central streets where traditionally
the processions pass.
In
this way, the Cleaning Service is proceeding to clean those streets and paint
common zones which are the most deteriorated. Moreover, the Gardening Service is
repopulating those garden areas which need it.
The
Local Minister of Services and Integral City Maintenance, Sergio López, has
explained that street lights are being painting where they are placing the banderols
and they have put up various Semana Santa promotional posters at the main
entrances to the city.
The
Local Minister said that it is trying to get the town ready to welcome one of
the most important programmes of the religious and cultural calendar, Totana's Semana
Santa.
