Totana City Council unanimously passed a motion urging the Government to undertake this work and provide it in 2009 budget

PP parliamentarians recalled that this dam was part of investments in the Segura Basin National Water Plan that produced the Popular Party government and was approved in 2001.

In the grounds put forward by the parliamentary Murcia, say the dam Lebor is "essential to reduce the risks of flooding in the village" as well as to recover the aquifers in the area.
Rep. Albert Clawson pointed out that although the city of Totana in October 2008 agreed unanimously to urge the Government to undertake this work and will provide a budget in fiscal 2009, "the government has not responded to the consistory requirement nor included any items for 2009 or 2010. "
Therefore, "we present this initiative to restore this work exactly as planned and to comply with the interests of the people of Totana, Guadalentín Valley and the Region of Murcia" stressed Garre.
